Cookie Notice
Last updated: May 29, 2026 · Effective date: May 1, 2026
This Cookie Notice explains how JC Tire Shop (“we,” “us,” “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit https://jctireshop.net. It works alongside our Privacy Policy and gives you the details and tools you need to control what we (and the services we work with) track in your browser.
1. What Are Cookies and How We Use Them
Cookies are tiny text files a website saves on your device when you visit it. They let the site remember things like whether you are signed in, what you put in your cart, what tire size you searched, and which pages you have seen. We and a few trusted partners also use related technologies — small invisible images known as web beacons (or pixel tags), browser local storage, embedded scripts, and ETags — for the same kinds of purposes.
We use these technologies to keep our site working properly, remember your choices, see what people look at most so we can stock better tires, and let a few service providers (like Stripe, who handles your payment) do their jobs. We do not use cookies to spy on you, and we do not sell what we learn from them.
2. The Cookies We Use
We group the cookies on jctireshop.net into the following categories. You can disable most of them if you want — see section 4 — but turning off the strictly necessary ones will break parts of the site.
a) Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are required for the site to work: signing in to your account, keeping items in your cart, processing your payment safely, protecting checkout from fraud, and remembering whether you have accepted this notice. They cannot be switched off in our system — if you disable them in your browser, the site will not work correctly.
b) Storage and Access Cookies
These read or store small identifiers on your device so the site can recognize you between page loads. For example, they keep you signed in while you browse from one tire listing to another, or remember that you already filled in your vehicle on the homepage.
c) Measurement and Analytics Cookies
We use analytics cookies to understand how people use the site — which tire sizes are searched, which listings get the most views, where visitors are coming from, what is slow, and what is broken. The data is aggregated; we are not looking at individuals. This is how we figure out which inventory to bring in and which parts of the site need work.
d) Personalization Cookies
These help the site behave the way you expect on repeat visits: remembering that this is not your first time, keeping your preferred language, and helping the sign-in form work. They are not used to build an advertising profile about you.
e) Content Selection Cookies
These help us decide which tires, deals, or homepage banners to show you based on what you have looked at on our site. Example: if you searched 275/55R20, you may see similar sizes recommended on your next visit.
f) Advertising Cookies
If we run ads on Google, Facebook, or similar platforms, those services may set cookies to measure whether an ad worked (for example, whether someone who clicked an ad later visited a tire listing) and to show ads that are more relevant to your interests. These cookies are set by those third parties — see section 3.
g) Social Media Cookies
If you share a tire listing on Facebook, X, or Instagram from our site, those platforms may set cookies in your browser. These are governed by each platform’s own privacy policy, not ours.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on jctireshop.net are set by other companies whose services we use. We do not control them — each provider has its own privacy and opt-out tools. The main ones are:
- Stripe — processes your payment. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Google (Analytics, Maps, and ads) — Privacy Policy · Analytics opt-out.
- Meta / Facebook & Instagram — Privacy Policy · Ad preferences.
- X (formerly Twitter) — Privacy Policy · Personalization controls.
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising across many companies at once using these industry tools:
- Digital Advertising Alliance (US)
- European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EU/UK)
- Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada
- Network Advertising Initiative
4. How to Manage or Disable Cookies
You are in control. Here are the ways to limit or turn off cookies, in order of how much they affect:
Browser settings
Every major browser lets you see, block, or delete cookies. Quick links:
If you block all cookies, the cart, login, and checkout will not work. We recommend at least allowing cookies from jctireshop.net.
Mobile devices
On iPhone, iPad, or Android phones, you can usually limit ad tracking under Settings → Privacy (look for “Limit Ad Tracking,” “Allow Apps to Request to Track,” or “Reset Advertising ID”).
Browser local storage and similar tech
Things like local storage, ETags, and embedded scripts are usually cleared at the same time you clear cookies and site data in your browser. Most browsers offer a “Clear browsing data” option that handles all of them at once.
“Do Not Track” signals
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no industry agreement yet on what websites should do with that signal, so we currently treat it the same as not having opted in to advertising cookies. You can always disable advertising cookies directly with the steps above.
5. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time — for example, when we add a new service or remove an old one. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Substantial changes will be highlighted on the homepage or sent to registered customers by email.
